Although these can increase the chances of not needing glasses after cataract surgery, I am cautious about lenses such as these that can adversely affect visual quality. However, I do offer these to patients where I feel that the risk of being unhappy with the outcome is low.
Some providers offer Refractive Lens Exchange. This is a procedure where the natural human lens is replaced purely to try to improve independence from glasses. I do not perform this procedure. However, I am very happy to perform consultations to explain the risks and benefits of this.
